By Paige Sutton

Paige is currently studying fine art at Staffordshire University. Her artistic journey is to find the delicate balance between visual interest and personal fulfilment, both for herself and her audience.
She is drawn to make her work hyper-realistic, yet trying to create art with a sense of ease and spontaneity; creating pieces that captivate with lifelike accuracy, while exuding an air of effortlessness.
Drawing inspiration from the historic Spode site in Stoke-on-Trent, when the artist was looking around the abandoned building, finding many lonely chairs, she thought about how she could still feel the sense of community and busyness, though it looked so lonely. She found herself wanting to make a piece for Spode.
This piece, Hiraeth (a deep longing for something), serves as a reminder that even when something fades away, its spirit lingers on. Paige’s artwork breathes life into the essence of what once was.
