Staffordshire University Fine Art student Lii Smith’s oil paintings and artistic concepts are deeply rooted in her journey of health recovery and profound connection to nature.
As she navigated the challenges of healing, she found solace and inspiration in the natural world, where the patterns of nature mirrored her own path toward recovery.
Smith’s painting ‘The Peaks At Sunset’ captures a fleeting moment where the Peak District is bathed in a golden, ethereal light, symbolising the rare and beautiful instances in her health recovery where she felt truly “normal” again. The vibrant hues and serene atmosphere of the sunset reflect those cherished moments of clarity and peace, where the struggles faded away, and life felt whole and beautiful once more, if only for a short while.
This work is a celebration of those brief but powerful experiences of renewal and hope experienced in her recovery.
